Jamie at Home

Jamie Oliver

If you're looking for great tasting meals that are quite healthy too, this is the book for you. In "Jamie at Home: Cook Your Way to the Good Life", it is clear that Jamie Oliver is serious about every stage of cooking: using good ingredients, cooking, serving, and most importantly, caring about the people who will eat his food.

What we like about "Jamie at Home":

Easy to read and use

"Jamie at Home" is an easy (and fun) to read book. It is perfect for budding new cooks, but has enough depth to satisfy more experienced home-cooks.

The recipes are robust, in the sense that it's difficult to get it wrong if you're not an experienced cook.

Many of the recipes are complete meals, or at least suggest what else you can serve with it, so you don't have to guess what else you may need to prepare to form a meal.

Healthy

Vegetables and meat are equally important in Jamie's recipes. It is not a book for vegetarians, but encourages you to cut down on meat and salt and use more vegetables.

Growing your own vegetables

Jamie Oliver's vegetable garden is the big theme of "Jamie at home". His gardening antics makes good sense, but be warned: it is rather contagious. We have certainly added to our small collection of home-grown herbs after buying this book.
